Grayscale

Dark spirits reside
where doubt creeps inside
Fear grips me and I
can no longer hide

All color would fade
to light and dark shade.
Life seems without hope
from vision so grayed

But from triumphs earned
and the steadfast learned:
I place the fire where
I’m most often burned.

The dark ones despise
what I now realize:
to see color one
must open their eyes
